Parrot Scribe 1.1.0 is rebuilt from the ground up in Rust and Tauri. This beta is for customers who choose Latest (includes pre-releases) in Settings > Updates. Everyone else receives stable updates.

### What's new

- One Library window for sessions, speakers and settings, with nested folders, filters, session info and a timeline of who spoke when.
- The interface is available in English, German, French, Spanish and Swedish.
- When people talk at the same time, microphone and system audio stay separate, and playback highlights the words being spoken.
- Choose your microphone, download or remove each speech model, and change global shortcuts.
- Import audio and video files, including WebM and Opus.
- Identify Speakers groups voices that belong to one person, fills in people it already knows and keeps your own voice as Me.
- Pro: connect Claude, Codex or Cursor with Simple or Trusted access. Each app gets its own token, which you can revoke separately.
- Pro: record Teams and Zoom meetings automatically. Both are off until you turn them on.
- Send feedback from the Help menu, with an optional encrypted diagnostics report that you review before saving.
- Opening Parrot Scribe again reuses the running app. Command-Q closes its windows; choose Quit from the menu bar icon to stop the app. After an unexpected exit, the app opens again.

### Upgrading from 1.0.x

- Before running a downloaded installer, quit Parrot Scribe from its menu bar icon and wait for recordings to finish saving. The installer stops if an app is still running.
- For in-app updates, install 1.0.8 first. With Latest and automatic update checks enabled, it checks for this beta after relaunch; otherwise choose Check for Updates again. If the previous version is still finishing library recovery, open it to finish, quit it, then retry the beta.
- Your sessions, transcripts, recordings, folders, speaker names, supported settings, Pro access and Recovery Key carry over. The original library stays untouched as a recovery copy.
- The first recording may need a one-time speech-model download of about 0.74 GB.
- Saved voice profiles from 1.0.x need new samples before automatic recognition can match those people.
- When an older session links your microphone to a saved speaker, both use that speaker's saved name.
- Reconnect your AI apps in Settings > AI Apps. Each app gets a new token.
- If the upgrade cannot finish, the app explains why and leaves your original library unchanged.

### Not in this beta yet

These are planned for 1.1.0:

- Transcript retention and a preview of what a retention change would delete. Audio retention works.
- Expected Languages, which narrows automatic language detection.
- Asking for consent before remembering a speaker's voice, and opening Identify Speakers by itself after a session.
- An export format setting, exporting or erasing everything about one person, and forgetting only a voice.
- Back and forward navigation in the Library.
- Cursor does not reconnect by itself after Parrot Scribe restarts. Choose Reload in Cursor's MCP settings.
- Zoom automatic recording has had less testing than Teams.

### Going back to 1.0.7

Download 1.0.7 from parrotscribe.com. Turn off Launch at Login in the beta, then quit from its menu bar icon and wait for saves to finish. Move the beta app out of Applications and keep it closed before installing 1.0.7. The older installer can leave a newer app in place if you install directly over it.

Sessions from before the upgrade are there as they were. Recordings and edits you make in the beta stay in the beta's library and do not appear in 1.0.7, so export anything you need first. Turn Launch at Login back on and reconnect your AI apps after going back.
